The truly state-of-the-art separation capabilities of the HempTrain™ Advanced Processing Plant efficiently separates bast fiber from hurd in a manner that does not damage the fiber strings, keeping the fiber long (~6” to 30" in length) and structurally intact for retention of high tensile strength, required for structural fiber for engineered applications.

Our premium hemp bast fiber is very absorbent, absorbing 30% more than straw. Hemp is naturally antibacterial, durable and has unique structural properties, giving it high-load bearing capacity (3.5x stronger than straw!) 

Once processed by HempTrain™ our premium bast fiber is compressed and baled into 14”x18”x36” bales; each 5.25 cu.ft bale expands to 9 cu.ft when loose.

Bast fiber has superior water retention, which reduces the frequency of watering. Because bast fiber strands are long and durable, bast is an effective soil insulation for trapping air and protecting the soil from temperature fluctuations, as well as protecting plants and trees from extreme cold or heat. The long fiber strands are intertwined, keeping the fiber in place; thus, it is not easily disturbed by wind, water, or foot traffic. Bast fiber contains no seeds, minimizes weed growth, and is compostable and pesticide-free.
